Always Be Aware
I went shooting with Nina recently at a range in the Nantahala National Forest. There were some other people there shooting so we were mindful of range etiquette. At one point, two people shooting together walked down range to put up targets. They neglected to call "Cold Range." I was not preparing to shoot at the time but it would have been better if they had called it. If the range is cold, no one is handling a gun at all. This allows for people to walk down range. When shooting alongside multiple people, it is very necessary to communicate with the people at the line. Make sure you call cold range when you are going down range. Make sure the other shooters acknowledge it and make sure you acknowledge when someone calls it.
